Aileen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Phogs Next Tuesday, December 12, 1939, the Kansas City, Kansas Rotary Club will hold a Memorial Service for John Carlson. It is our desire that three of four short talks be made from representatives of John's major interests. Since the University, and particularly the Athletic: Department, was one of the things he considered most worthwhile. We are anxious to have that field represented. Your position in the University, as well as your close personal relations with John for so many years, makes you the nly logical selection. Mae was particularly happy that you were to be invited. The. other speakers will be Jim DeCoursey, Frank Rushton, and some representative Prom Rotary International, and each will talk about five minutes. While you will naturally wish to discuss John's relationship with the University, we do not desire to restrict your re- marks in any way... Unless I hear from you to the contrary, I will look forward to.seeing next Tuesday. truly HHBs Jit Tuesday, December 12, 1939, Grund Hotel, le Noon
