THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES OFFICE OF THE DEAN LAWRENCE May 22, 1943 Dre Fe. Ce Allen Department of Physical Sauieation University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen, The following three enrollments in physical education for the spring semester should be cleared up. (1) Robert Martindell was enrolled in physical education in the 7:30 class for no credit. The grade sheet does not show his name, and therefore no grade was turned in nor did he withdraw. His name did not appeargon the correction sheet which was sent to your department betes the grade sheets were made out. (2) William Shaw was enrolled ‘in’ the 10:50 class for one hour credit. He did not withdraw, but your grade sheet shows him as withdrawn. (3) George Re. Ware was en- rolled in the 10:30 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday class for one hour. credit. The grade sheet does not bear his name, nor did your correction sheet show it. He did not withdraw. According to our rules, each of these three should receive a failure, for none of them withdrew after enrolling in the classes. The question is should these three failures be given because of the student's carelessness even though the depart- ment did not do its part in getting these cases straightened out at the proper time and in the proper way. Sincerely yours, C2 p BM Paul Be. Lawson, Dean pbl/ep
