Dear Mr. Allen:

Mr. Bill Bass, who has eight unexcused absences in Physical
Conditioning has been to see me. He states that all his absences
werecCdue to a persistent cold, but that after obtaining some
excusés from the University Hospital, he did not go back for
more. Somehow, and that was probably his fault, he did not
succeed in-getting excused by his instructor.

Dr. Reese gives him a good character, and I am convinced
after talking with him that he was not trying to evade the
course. Therefore our committee is allowing him to remain in
school and our recommendation to you is that some, if not all,
of his absences be counted as excused.
