WILBUR PALMER, CLERK MRS. RUTH CARLSON, DIRECTOR A. L. WILLARD, TREASURER @HENEY PUBLIC SCHOOLS FLOYD SOUDERS, SUPERINTENDENT @HENEY, KANSAS November 22, 1939 Dr. Forrest C. Allen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Sir: We are planning a dinner for our football squad some time soon and I wonder what the possibilities are to get you to come down and make a talk for us. We have a small school of about 95 pupils enrolled and have had a good season. | The school has not played football for four years and we started the six-man game this year. Local interest in athletics has been revived, and we would like to keep it alive. The local chamber of commerce is sponsoring the dinner, and as usual are limited on finance, Our date has not been definitely set, but our calendar is open on Dec. 8. If you could come on that date, how much money would you need? If you have that date filled, is there another time you could come? If you should have another engagement in the vicinity perhaps we could arrange our date so that you could be here the day before or the day after if you could arrange it. If it is impossible for you to come, would you be so kind as to ask if Glen Cunningham would be available and could come in your stead? How are basketball prospects? I hope you have a success- ful season this year. Sincerely yours, 4 f io _ AES :RAB
