DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION Sam Houston State Ceachers College H. F. ESTILL, PRESIDENT Guntaville, Texas J. W. JONES, DIRECTOR June 27, 1935. H. ©. CRAWFORD JOE E. KIRK RANZELL NICKELSON Dr. Forrest Ce. Allen, Kansas University, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Dr. Allen: I am writing to inform you that I have made reservations for you at the Sam Houston Hotel which is about a block and a half off of the campus. The best I could do was a connecting bath, as our hotéls have not quite assimilated the idea of private baths but I believe that you will be comfortable as the hotle is both clean and cool. Your reser- vation is made for Timrsday the eleventh and after you get cleaned up and settled, you can get in touch with me either at my home, phone 427 or at the Men's Gym, phone 451, depending on the time of the day. If I am not available, ask for Mr. Louis LeMay, my assistant for the summer and who is conversant with the Coaching School progrem. You and Kerr will be in the same hotel. I have just received a letter from Kerr and he says that he is bringing Fred Swan, Warner's line coach, with him to help him in his demonstration work and I believe that that this will be an added attrac- tion. : Roe Our local Chamber of Commereecis attending to the entertainment end of the school and their committee has planned a Lyceum number on Wednesday night, July 17 with you and Kerr as the headliners talking on your respective sports. Since they seem to be so enthusiastic over the idea, I am planning to invite the entire summer school student hody and the citizens of Huntsville and Houston, our neighboring large city, to attend this feature. The talk would have to be more or less general as the technical knowledge of the audience will not be particularly high. Sincerely yours, Jws/L
