- Dear Dr. Allen:

A few days ago I wrote a Dr. Richmond of Murray State
Teachers College of Murray, Kentucky using you name
as a reference. . -

It is my hope you will not resent me taking the liberty
of using your name for recommendation, but. felt your re-
marks would carry very much weight, especially since my
athletic beginning had its start in your state. I com-
peted in your Kansas Relays, and also against your fine
university in other athletic ways.

Naturally I feel yourare in a position to know of my
capabilities and would greatly appreciate any good word
you might feel I am worthy of, in the event you are ask-
ed for a recommendation of me.

Mr. Mike Getto asked me to pass on his regards to you and
wishes you as I do, a successful basketball season this
