Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear "“Phog"; I was, indeed, very happy to get your letter of November 15th. I, too, have heard quite a bit about you indirectly and can assure you it was all good. I was away at the time your letter arrived - therefore the delay in answering. Now, as to the arch normalizer you mention, the outfit Max Carey used was my own which had been given to me by Mr., F. We. Long, the inventor of same. I have them in the office, and while we do not use them to any great extent, we have, in cases where used, obtained very good results, but it is like every other adjunct in an office, they are sometimes neglected when they might be beneficial. I have no doubt, and certainly no hesitancy, in recommending them to you or to anyone else who has athletes in his charge. Forrest, I understand that Mr. Montgomery is no longer connected with the Biltmore Properties although that is not definite. As yet, I have been unable to contact him, but I will surely mention your name to him when he does get in touch with me. I understand he is promoting a new news- paper to be established on Miami Beach, We are entertaining in the Orange Bowl this New Year's Missouri University and Georgia Tech, and we are looking forward to a big time. You should try to arrange to come down here at that time as we would try to show you a few things besides the game. Allen, Department of Physical Education, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KansasSe Dear Dr. Allen: Congratulations to you and your splendid basketball team. Thoroughly enjoyed both Friday and Saturday nights! performance. A Missouri alumus suggested that the Kansas band, in view of its excellency, should be on hand next Saturday night. Far be it from me to suggest any- thing that might increase the overhead for I know very well how the Athletic Department needs the money, but there should be enough vacant seats in motor cars coming down here from Lawrence next Saturday night to transport the band without any cost to the Athletic Department and Lawrence citizens would certainly be glad to furnish such transportation, it seems to me. The band would certainly be happy to play in view of their being allowed to see the game free. TI would almost grab a horn myself but will have to invest in more tickets. You might pass this letter along to Mr. Henry if you so desire. Again thanking you for good winter basketball enter- tainment, I am WWF: AK W. W. April 4, 1940 Dre Fe Ceo Allen, Department of Physical Education, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Dr. Allen: Wish to apologize for being so late in complimenting you on your excellent management of the N.C.A.A. festivities and also want to thank you for the excellent seats for Saturday night. They were certainly a big improvement over what I had purchased. Naturally we were all a little disappointed in the game but as you were quoted in last night's Star, Indiana was hot and there is nothing that can be done about a good team that is hot and they certainly were a good team. Perhaps if you can develop a couple of good guards next season we will get another crack at them. The entire evening's entertainment was indeed outstanding and you might tell Professor Wiley that several music lovers remarked that he has the best college band that they ever heard. This certainly goes for me and I am a much better judge of music than I am of basketball. I know you are busy and do not ask that you take time to answer this letter. Simply wanted to express my thanks. Sincerely, Petia WWF:AK W. W. FULLER April 10, 19406. Mite Inve F 14 Ne moana AvGe,g Atlantic City, J.
