Fairbanks, Morse & Co. 1216-FIBERLY STREET KANSAS CriTry, MO. February 20, 1939. Mr. Earl Falkenstien c/o Kansas University Athletic Office Lawrence, Kansas Dear Sir: Our Mr. Thomas has written us concerning his call upon you under date of February 19, and that your dial scale is badly in need of service. Our scale testing trucks go out over the territory each year, generally leaving Kansas City the latter part of March and returning about October of the year. They have instructions to solicit service in every town where we have dials. Our records show that your dial has not been serviced since 1936 and the man who was in charge of this scale testing truck and who was in Lawrence in November of last year, is not now certain that he did solicit the opportunity to service your dial when in Lawrence. As above stated, the truck will start out the latter part of March. If you want your scale serviced at that time, we will arrange to have him go by way of Lawrence and render service to you. Our charge for this is $7.50. This charge includes the labor but does not, of course, in- clude any repair parts that might be necessary, but it is very seldom that repair parts are required. We only mention these repair parts in this particular case, inasmuch as it has been some time since this dial was given a regular service. We should be pleased to hear from you. Yours truly FAIRBANKS, MORSE & CO. fe 4 ot iz ee ‘ a “Seale Department WENugent cs
