Dear Dr. Allen:

The swift moving events of last summer and my presence at the
Fourth Army Manuevers with thé Nebraska National Guard, no
doubt, was responsible for no action being taken on your letter
of last July 24th.

I do regret the fact that the basketball record for the Big Six
Conference lacked our report to make it complete, and will try
to do better in the future.

Sincerely hope you have had an enjoyable and profitable summer
and will be looking forward to seeing you before many days go
