E UNI SCHOOL OF EDUCATION LAWRENCE April 6, 1938 Dr. F. C. Allen, Director — Physical Education Department My dear Dr. Allen: Mr. Sisson advises me that a new course in the Department of English called Literary Masters, covering the high points in literature and including some contemporary writers, will be offered next year. This course will not be open to anyone who has credit for Literature 10 or 1l. It was my thought that this course might be of more interest to our majors in the Department of Physical Education than the work which is now recommended. If after examining the content of the course you feel that such is the case, you might con- ceivably call this to the attention of your advisers in physical education with the suggestion that Literary Masters, when offered, might meet the English Literature requirement in our curriculum. Some students with whom we have talked feel that Personal Health, coming as it does in the first semester of the fresh- man year, puts them at a disadvantage. They feel that a course in physiology either preceding or accompanying that course might enable them to do better work in Personal Health. I give you this suggestion for whatever you may feel it is worth. 7 Sincerely yours, apne Cle es A. Schwegler he Dean MR: DM
