BELOIT HIGH SCHOOL ~~ BELOIT, KANSAS E. M. CHESTNUT, PRINCIPAL “‘Home of the Trojans’? December 1, 1939 Mr. Forrest C. Allen, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear friend Mr. Allen, If all plans work out as now tenatively arranged we will olay our first game of basketball in our new municipal building on the night of December 15. The t building is just now being equipped and will be dedicated and opened on Dec.12-13-14. Our game is now a part of the Chamber of Commerce ovening program but we are "tagking" ih on. Our court will be 48 by 88 with the bac hearc backboards set in 4 feet. I ado not know whether your schedule would permit you to be present that night and make a brief takk at the half intermission. I haven't seen a copy of your game schedule. It is about 185 or 190 miles here from Lawrence. I'd have to ask you what your fee would be for the trip, E.A.Thomas will be in Beloit Dec.4 and I'm asking him to come too--wijether he can accept I do not know. All plans are not now complete but we hope to have the game that night. I'd be very happyto hear from you. Very sincerely yours,
