December 17, 1945 Mr. Ashley Blbl - 5336 Norwood Road Kansas City, Kansas Dear Ashley: Please do not feel that my failure to answer your letter or September 11 had any undue significance, The real matter of the fact is tat I lost your letter in some Gorrespondence just about the time school opened. With the war over and a lot of our basketball players coming back who want to exercise their ¢G. I, Bill of Rights, they are applying to nie in great numbers to help then, Lo ae i had promised Howard Mngleman I could help him when he returns. le is coming in to study law, so that would close that avenue. I am sure that you will agree that I could do nothing else than to teke one of my good players back. I do hear of a lot of coaching jobs but I imagine you would want to be in some university where you could get your degree. You know, I an sure you could get on as a teacher here at the University of Kansas, They are needing instructors badly and if you would be interested, let me know ard I will cast about and see what the chances are for the future. Nothing would give me more pleasure than having you here with us. : With every good wish to you and hoping to hear from you soon, Ian Pet A Sincerely, | | - ‘Direotor of Physical Uducation, FCA: MF Varsity Basketball Coach. |
