Dear Phog:

The other day I saw Taft Talbot pouring over a manuscript and
I asked him what he was reading.

He said, “It's a letter Phog Allen writes to his boys in the
. service."

Afterwards he handed me this copy of your No.11 “Jayhawk Rebounds"
and while sitting at my desk after working hours I casually picked
it up and thought I would glance through it.

However after making a start I read it all with intense interest.

Phog, I think that this composite letter of yours is about the
finest thing I have ever heard of anyone doing to keep in touch
with the boys in the service.

I can readily understand how grateful these boys are to get such
a letter from you and with what intense interest they must look
forward to the next one.

It must take a lot of your time but I think you are repaid a
hundred fold by the gratitude of these boys of yours in the
Service.
