PHYSICAL TRAINING CFFIC® APO 632, c/o Postmaster, Viami, Florida 16 April 1945 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Department of Physical Hducation University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: Just a word or two in regard to a new boy who seems to be interested in Kansas University. I met this boy the other night when we were playing against each other in a basketball same. His complete title, name, and ASN ig as follows: Col. James A Kane 36904277, 383rd Bomb Group, 876th Sq. ABU 248th, APO 632, c/o Postmaster, Miami, Florida. This boy just finished high school when he was called to the service. Doc, as I mentioned above, I played against this boy and he is very good. This lad is about 6' 2",' and has a big pair of shoulders. He likes to play ball, and is a fighter-the type you like. Jim hails from Chicago, which isn't too far from Buescher. He was quite enthused that I happen to know you. Maybe sooner or later you will receive a letter from him. If it could possibly be arranged that this boy would come to K.U., I'm sure he would fit into your system wonderfully. Besides being a good player, Col. Kane looks and appears to be a clean cut kid. We're still carrying on as usual here, and have been meeting a lot of K.U. people. Give my regards to all. Sincerely, $oy RE ver AY @& EVANS, and.Lt., Air Corps, Phy. Trng. Officer P.S.
