Dear Dr. Allen:

We are writing you this letter to thank you for your
close cooperation in working with us as we attmpted to
strengthen our team for the National Tourney in Denver.

Naturally, we are very proud to have a K. U. boy on
our squad, and I know that he will prove most satisfactory
to us. Our team will do everything in its power to be a
credit to the state of Kansas, and we hope that the Kansas
boys of Wichita can come through as well in the National as
did the Kansas boys of Phog's team come through this season.

We certainly appreciated the chance of meeting you and
personally acquainting ourselves with your ideas and theories
on basketball and a few of its coaching problems.

Incidentally, Jack Copelam told me of one of your weak-
nesses, and we are trying to follow throuch on this in
Cessna's best style. Under separate cover you will receive
a gift from our team with our deepest appreciation. This is
certainly not a bribe or donatioh, but rather a genuine token
