Howard George Engleman, who is making application for
appointment to commissioned rank in the U. S. Naval Re-
serve, addressed to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, has been re-
ceived during Dr. Allen's absence from his office. He
will return to Lawrence Saturday evening, January 2nd,

and I am sure he will give your inquiry very prompt
attention.

Dr. Allen regards Howard Engleman as one of
the finest young men of his acquaintance. He has been
closely associated with Mr. Engleman, and knows the high
quality of his character, ability and loyalty.
