A student
pep rally the
night before the game at which
Coach Bruce Drake and members of
the Sooner basketball team, and also
Jack Jacobs and Orv Mathews,
Sooner football players, will speak,
urging better sportsmanship, was
one of the tentative plans an-
nounced.

“The Kansas crowd treated our
boys courteously at Lawrence earlier
in the season and we are anxious
to do even a better job when the
Jayhawks come here,’ Lawrence
“Jap” Haskell, Sooner athletic di-
rector said.

“EATING of 100 members of the
“QO” club, university lettermen’s
organization composed of athletes in
all sports, in strategic spots behind -
the Kansas bench and all through
the gigantic crowd, is also being
considered.
Drake is opposed to the crowd’s
booing an enemy free-thrower in
the act of shooting.

“However, I doubt if our stu-
dents are primarily to blame for
this,’ the Sooner coach said.
‘Much of our booing comes from
outside fans who do not know the
game,”

The Kansas-Oklahoma game next
week promises to be a hotter battle
even than usual because of Doctor
Allen’s frank admission he orig-
inated the protest against Gerald
Tucker, and also because of Doctor
Allen’s recent charges of profession-
alism against Oklahoma.
