Dear Mr. Allens:

After I graduated from the University last spring I
took a position, at Dean Stockton!s suggestion, with
B. L. Mendenhall, Inc., in Kansas City.

The idea was conceived to print a booklet that would
refresh in the minds of Americans the principles upon
which this country was founded and duilt. The attached
copy is a result of my efforts. :

It was our idea that we need to know the roles great
Americans had in building America---we need to know of
the heritage of America---we need to know the ideals
for which we stand---we need to know the truths that
undérlie what we call "the American way."

We believe that every American would do well to read
this booklet---that it would help us carry on through
the emergency, and would help us build a better new
order after the war.

This pre-publication edition was printed for the purpose
of getting opinions of its merit and worth before under-
