October 6, 1938 Mr. Ray Noble Box 214 ~~ Ottawa, Kansas I received your special delivery letter this morning, in which you requested that I do all I could in securing e job for you in this Company. I am sorry not to have answered your first letter, but I have been out of town and have not had the opportunity to do so. Pralle and I had a long telk with Schmitty this morning and he called Mr. Adams with reference to you. It was very favorable for you to come with this Com- pany, but as we have hired five new ball players and hed to retire Browning about two weeks ago, because we had too many ball players, it made it imposs- ible for them to consider airing you this year. I do wish that I could do something for you, but this year, ‘otipianaday at this time, it is more impossible to help you in securing the job. Pralle and I had hoped that we could get you down here because we have all had so much fun playing ball together. We start our practice next Tuesday, and I think that we are going to have a good team this year.
