Mr. John Bunn, dean of men at Stanford University, has asked
me to send you copies of the records and recommendations of
Mr. Edward De Groot as filed at the Appointment Service. I
take it that Mr. Bunn is in correspondence with you and you
know the nature of the suggestion he is making concerning Mr.
De Groot. Mr. Bunn did not indicate to me the situation under
consideration, but I am glad to add the endorsement of this
office in behalf of Mr. De Groot. In the time that I have
