December 5, 1944 e Mrs. Alice K. Griffith, fhe Athletic Journal, 6858 Glemrood Avenue, Chicago 26, Illinois. T acknowledge receipt of your check with thanks. I am trying to think of a nifty name for an article that I think will be a real service to the basketball coaches who are patrons of your Athletic Journal. I am working at something new that has not been touched upon. You can count on my finishing this article about December 15th. You remember I wrote you about conbatting a pressing defense. Iread John Krafft's article and it does not touch upon what I was going to do. I dislike to digress from terminology be- gause there is no such thing in basketball terminology as the "paggle-dazzle" game. This morning about 3:30 or 4 o'clock I had an appropriate name for my article, but it left me because I did not concentrate on it enough when I got up. I am thinking about "Stifling the So-Called Razzle-Dazzle Game”. I have met coaches who have tried this on me and I- have never published it before. But I believe it would be worth the money. If I ean think of a better title I will use it, but if this satisfied you I believe we can do pretty well with it. Very sincerely yours, : Director of Physical Education, PCAs H ; Varsity Basketball Coach.
