HOTEL PHONE PRIVATE PHONE SOLLARS ROYALTY COMPANY c. S. SOLLARS ST. ANTHONY HOTEL SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS Jan- 4 1944 e Dr. Forrest Allen, Kansas University, Lawrence, Kan. Dear wir. Allen: I saw the article in Time as wel asthe editorial in the Sat, Evening Post, and am muchly interested in clg@an sports, do hope you will keep punching as I have been suspicious for several years of the same things you reported. I remember a few years ago when two taems played foot-ball and one was susposed to be a certain winner but lost by a substantial score. The only notice I ever saw was that coach Jones fired several of his top wen when he arrived in Los Angeles. I have written a friend of mine that has many sports writters amoung his friends and have suggested that he make an endeavor through them to open up this racket. As horse raceing is now closed there will be thousands of gamblers looking for a new racket and our college sports will be the next thing they will take over. The sports writters will not only run out of a job but will soon-be classed with the gamblers should they not try to stop this goon. My father, Charles Sollars live@ in Independence and as I used to visit there ever so often, I met all of the Allen boys and knowing them to be good sports, I am making this effort to help. Sincerely, Bedottees
