Have made statement that it was alleged that basketball players sold out
to gemblers or were connected in such a way that thay were dismissed from
the squad. : ~ % very difficult to get proof to substantiate certain
charges in my possession. “ych information that I have from coaches who
frankly and honestly told me things, they now refuse to take responsibility
fore de emwy i the only fellow that I know of who has been able to bust
rackets in New York. My motive in releasing any information on gambling
is no reflection on your highly efficient promotional venture of basketball.
. My desire is to awaken the college presiderts of America to their respon-
sibility in providing « source of power in fighting these professional —
gembling vedente.
