Oklahoma Opposes Kansas and
Manhattan Team Plays Iowa
State in Initial Big Six

LAWRENCE, KAs., Nov. 26.—Almost

before football togs are packed away
in mothballs, attention here is be-
ginning to turn to the indoor season,
The Big Six championship basketball

players, coached by F. C. Allen, will
make their 1938-39 debut Tuesday
night when they meet the Kansas
frosh cagers, ~

In a week, Big Six basketball for
the 1938-39 season will get under way
in earnest, Kansas and Kansas State
officially opening their seasons De-
cember 3. The conference cham-
pions will entertain Missouri Teach-
ers of Warrensburg here and Kansas

State will go to Winfield to play
Southwestern, A

The same two teams are in the
start of conference play, Kansas
meeting Oklahoma in Norman and
Kansas State playing fava State in’
Ames, January 7.

territory before Christmas, playing |:
the University of Texas and South-
ern Methodist in Austin and Dallas.
Oklahoma’s schedule still is incom-

| Nebraska plans a trip to the Pa-
| cific coast, starting the night after

Christmas in Berkeley, and also
| Playing U. C. L. A. and Stanford.
| Missouri will go as far as the inter-
|mountain region’ for games with
Denver, Colorado college and Wy-—
oming,. Iowa State, according to
custom, has an all-Iowa non-con-
ference schedule, and Kansas State
will confine its play largely to the
state.

K-STATE VS. M. U. FEB. 20,

The conference schedule proyides
no more than two games on any
one date. Kansas and Kansas
State have their two games ten
days apart. Kansas State does not
meet Missouri until February 20,
with the return game February 25.

In addition to the ten conference
games for each Big Six team, Kan-
sas and Nebraska have ten non-
conference games; Kansas State
and Missouri eight each; Iowa
State seven, and Oklahoma (sched-
uled to date) six. Following is the
composite schedule with the scores.
of 1937-38 games, (Conference
games are starred):

Dec. 3—Kansas vs. Warrensburg Teach-
ers at Lawrence. Kansas State vs. South-
western at Winfield.

Dec, 5—lIowa State vs. Cornell at Ames
(26-28).

‘Dec, 9—Kansas vs. Oklahoma A. and M.
at Stillwater.

Dec. 10—Kansas vs. Oklahoma A. and M,
at Stillwater. *Kansas State vs. Doane
