Smith Center Public Schools ERNEST R. ALLBERT, Superintendent ocx SMITH CENTER, KANSAS January 20, 1942 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Basketball Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doctor Allen: I am bringing some of my boys down for the game this Saturday with Kansas State. Replogle was in town last Saturday and said that he would make arranzements for tickets and places for the boys to staye At that time I thovght 1 would bring only three boys, but since then have found that there are five that will make the trip. Four of the boys I am bringing are Seniors--three with some promise as basketball players. Two of them espically, I be- lieve, will be pretty good boys. Both of these two are better than six feet. Frank Pattee is a fine football player, and one of the best rebounding boys I have seen in high school, I would like for them to have an opportunity to meet you. The other is definitely going to Ke. U. The third wants to co either to N.U. or “ort Hays. He wears glasses but is a pretty fair guard. He is about five feet eleven and may grow. The fourth is too small for college ball. If it will be possible for us to see you sometime Saturday, I would appreciate it very much. Ht I heard the last three minutes of the Iowa State game, and believe me that must have been a battle. Best of luck when you meet them again. %- Very Sincerely ‘ el Bill Greene
