Dear Dr, Allen:

I'm sending youthis little note to let you know I started to
work this morning. As you probably have guessed by now, I

am with Phillip's Petroleum Company, I snitched enough
stationery to write to you so the letter would at least appear
to carry more»oprestige,

At present I'm onlyiin the mailing department, but the position
holds good possibilities for advancement within a few months,

The pay isn't so fat right now and perhaps it won't be for -

several months, However, I am quite well satisfied. I had in

quite a number of applications, yet, the company that I desired most
to be connected with was the one with whieh I am now. I'm so

happy I could shout and leap with glee. 1 only hope the work
doesn't become too monotonous as time passes,

Please pass my best wishes on to all and especially Mrs. Webster,
and let her know I'm in a better mood and disposition than when
she last saw me,

Dr, Allen, I want to take this opportunity to gratefully thank

you for all your aid, I feel sure I couldn't have done a thing or.
couldn't have gotten anyplace without your help. I only hope

that I may someday be in a position to do you a good turn and

ft hope that I can comply with your request if you ever ask a favor
of me, .

“ndoubtedly I'll be secing you in the near future. We don't work
on Saturdays thus I can attend the football games,
