Dear Mr Allen:

Mr H E Blythe has referred to the writer your letter of September
13 in which you express interest in Airfoam - Goodyear's exclusive
foam latex product - as a possible padding in basketball uniforms.

It would seem to us that this would be a highly desirable applica-
tion for Airfoam for the following reasons. It is light in weight;
it is highly porous, permitting the free passage of air, and would
thus be cooler than impervious substances such as ordinary sponge
rubber with its thick skin. It is washable. Can be disinfected.
It certainly would absorb shock and can easily be cut or fabricated
to almost any size or shape.

But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we are sending

to you under separate cover, a sheet of our 1/4" material of sufficient
size so that you can do considerable experimenting with it. Incidentally,
Airfoam in the so called "slab" stock without interior ¢avities or cells,
as we term them, molded into the structure, is produced in thicknesses
ranging from 1/4" up to 1". The price list attached will give you the
variation in size, also, the prices. Your discount as an institutional
user would be 20-50%.

A copy of this letter will go to him, as he possibly gets into Lawrence
from time to time, and might be of assistance to you. It is suggested
that any orders which you care to send for Goodyear Airfoam, be mailed
directly to our Kansas City district office, as this will insure the
best attention due to the various details employed in handling our
orders and distribution.
