June 27th, 1941 Mr, John Harris Glenn — 710 East Fourth Street Beardstown, Illinois Dear John: Thanks “old topper" for your very prompt reply to my epistle of recent date. x I'm happy to know that John is doing a splendid job both at the filling station and the ice plant. Mrs. Allen says that John is the best worker she has ever had.’ And, I might add that when that boy gets on a basketball court it's not necessary for him to lower his colors to anyone. But, he does have a little difficulty in the class room. I'll appreciate it if you will have him write Miss Kenny and get him started on this correspondence work. Aren't you people coming to Salina this summer? We'll be here through the early part of August as we still have six weeks of summer school. We'll be looking for you. And, if you don't come we may have to run down end see you. I'm teaching at Boone, Iowa, at the Iowa High School Athletic Association's Coaching School and Offic- ials' Clinic from August 18th to 2lst, inclusively, with Clark D. Shaugh-— nessy, Bernie Bierman, Hank Iba, and others. On second thought, I think I'll send you one of the announcements. Give our love to the Koohles and your wonderful wife. Sincerely, © Director of Physical Education and Recreation-Varsity Basketball and Baseball Coach. FCA:re
