Dear Dr. Allen,

I am working - temporarily at least - in the City Bond and Mortgage
Company. We are located on the mezzanine floor of the City National
Bank and Trust Company. I have made the acquaintance of a young
man eighteen years old who works in the bank downstairs, I soon
learned he is a great admirer of yours. Having something in common
we became friends.

He is eighteen or nineteen years old having graduated from Paseo

High Sehool in 1938, He is very very anxious to get a higher

education in fact I believe he is going to attend night school.
He is six feet four inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.’
He is well coordinated - I know because I have watched him
play ping pong during lunch hour in the basement of the bank.
He is a hansome young. man with .a clean wholesome appearance.
He has loved basketball ever since he can remember and he

has played it as long.

He would like very much to meet you, and I felt that you might

like to meet him. I am sure he could come to Lawrence at your conveni:

convenience. I would be very pleased to,hear from you if you
are interested. His name is Bob Sommers,
