Dear Prof,.Allen:

It certainly was very considerate of you to
write me such an interesting letter, and conveying to me some
things I wes tehage I was desirous of knowing.

I attended the game at Manhattan Saturday, and
was surrounded by K.U.boys, the two Mullen boys from home were
with me and how they did pull for K.U. and I have seen K.U.play
many times,but never saw them play a better or cleaner game than
they did Saturday, every man was in there to win as they did.

Yes, I know Gwinn Henry is now the director or
Atheletics, I have known him for several years, while he was at
Emporia College, then he was at M.U. for I think two years, and
have always considered him a very capable coach,

I want to again tell you that I am friendly
toward K.U., it was wile I was Director of the State Highway
Department,we did our part in having the road from Lawrence to
Ottawa paved to provide a way that any one who wanted to attend
the games rain or shine could get there. My old friend X.Kennedy
of Lawrence was very interested in having this done, and I made
many trips to Lawrence before the same was assured, Also No 10
was surveyed and the route designated while I was on the Commission
and paved later. I was with the department from Jany 1925 to June
1950.

I have written you before about other matters, is
the particular reason I wrote you this time, I did not want to write
to Gwinn Henry, as he might think I was just another crank, however
I believe you are interested in knowing what the gross roots are
saying, at least _ is what we who are interested in politics, always
want to know.

Ken Wlech of Empria a good friend of mine, I see
him quite often, but I did not know he was a foot ball player, I
know his cousin Fran Welch, is making good with Emporia Teachers,

May I say a word of commendation for you, I think
you are the best basket ball coach in this part of the country.

And I certainly thank you for you kindly letter
and hope that I may have at opportunity of you meeting you in the
near future, and I appreciate you invitation to attend a game,

For many years I have always attended the Kansas
State Nebraska games, as Gov.Cochran and I are very good friends,

and we have a lot of fun placing a small wager on the game, and I
