DEPARTMENT OF Music THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS LAWRENCE November 15,1937 Doctor rorest G.allen, Director of Physical Education, University of Kansas. Dear Doctor Allen; I harbor no adverse feeling towarg you in the matter of the radio incident of the other evening.I do not hold you respon- sible in any way for this ‘infringement’ of time. Naturally, andbecause of the nature of the seleetion that I had echosen,I had hoped to finish it.It was the type of piece, which in order to be justified, needed the climax. The interest is pro- gressive in this piece as in many, and naturally all this was lost. The loss of a minute or two from a talk or musical selection robs it of its efiectiveness with the result that the purpose is dissipated. But let me assure you again that I felt no trespassing on your part.I do feel that it should be the policy of the station to avoid these overlappings. You,nor I,are responsible for this lack of co-ordination in time, but I do think that the station should avoid these conflicts. I appreciate your expression of interest in. my playing and want to thank you for this. I hope that we may have the pleasure of sharing another half hour at K.F.K.U. Cordially, Eo Platina | CFR
