Stewart, Nevada July 18, 1938 Dey Fo) Os Bl ies Athletic Department University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doc: I was both surprised and very sorry at the attitude Elwyn has taken. I really did want to see Elwyn before I left, but could never get in touch with him. I was up to the office and down to the Stadium two or three times, but never did get to see him. Funny thing though, Doe, I wouldn't have mentioned that loan if I had seen him. At the time I borrowed the money I told him I would borrow it only on the condition that I would pay it back only after I got a job, which would be in. two or three years. Elwyn helped me in so many more ways that I appreciated a hundred percent more than I did the loan that I had forgotten about it other than it kind of hung over my head and I knew it would have to be paid at the soonest possible date. I and Elwyn haven't had much in common since he has been married. He has been associating with a much older crowd of people and I didn’t think much about it when I didn't get to see him. I had planned to write him a letter sometime during the summer though. I am very glad that you heve taken enough interest to let me know conditions and please in the future if you feel I need to be checked up, don't hesitate to let me know. I realize that a young fellow will make a lot of mistakes and a helping hand from you will help more than you will ever realize. If there is anything I can do for you in the future, I will do my best to comply with your wishes. Very truly yours, Muah tae Wade Green
