Dear Hugh:

I am rather late in extending my condolences to
you in the passing of your wonderful father. I know how proud
you must be of a man who stood for such high things in sports.
And he who on account of his convictions had the integrity and the
nerve to expose the Black Socks Scandals. In my opinion, your
father and Judge Landis were the two men to whom organized base-
ball and clean sport in general owe more than anyone else» Such
durable satisfaction that a son receives from a father such as yours
is ever lasting. I have always had a great admiration for such
fine character ag your dad's.
