I doubt if you remember me as its been about four years

40 and 41. Ay present I'm home on furlough and it shouldn't
be too long before I get back.

'I have a little favor to ask if you could find a minute
or two to drop me @ line in answer to this letter. I have -a
boy by the name of Ralph Young on the line to come up to KU.
He just got out of the army and L don't know whether he'll go
to school this Feb or wait until next fall. But I think with
a little work, I can bring him up to school.

He played basketball for lopeka when he was in school
three years ago. H, isn't another Howard Engleman but I
sincerely believe that he will develop into a first class

ball player. He's about 5! 10", a good shot, plenty fast,

and a plenty smooth ball handler, What.I would like todo would
be to bring him and hame him meet you but that isn't possible
at the present. What Iwondered Phog was if you could write me
a little note and perhaps include the following: "I'll keep
Ralph in mind and if you could find time to bring him up to
Lawrence next spring, I'd be glad to meet him." (Any little
statement like that will do and then I can show it to the boy
and work on him from then,) 7

I got a letter from K,ute Kresie and he's still out in the
Pacific. Also saw Mstt in Kansas City the other day but didn't
get a chance to talk to him, Ihanks for your help Phog. Best
wishes for a successful season and Merry Christmas to the family.
