Dear Dr. Allen:

I was very pleased in receiving your basketball
squedule for the ensuing season and your letter of
inspiration. I have already, however, been in the
properxstate of mind for the tasks that awaits USe

After being on the side-lines watehing your team
in action and anxious to be in action myself, I am now
full of determination not to be on the side-lines again.
I am glad that you have issued your challenge of hard
work for I wish to accept ite

The inspiration that I receive at home is already
taking effect as practice is already being urged upon
ME e

I was deeply interested in the Lowa High School
Kthletic Association Coaching Clinic and in the great
names which took part in that affair in which I put that
of Dre Allen at the top of the Liste

In speaking of the caliber of some of the other
teams, the two giants at Missouri should give a lot
of trouble, Burns and Shelley, Shelley is 6* 8"
and not at all awkward for a boy of his height. He
played with us on the second team at Paseo, but he
moved to Washington just when he would have been a
valuable asset to us for the next two yearSe

I am looking forward with great anticipation
