Standards for special music certificate

Degree or diploma from an institution approved by the
board of educational examiners

Professional requirements for standard Secondary or
advanced elementsry certificate

American government, 2 semester hours

Not less than 30 semester hours in music distributed as
follows:

(1) Music theory and harmony (net less than 10 semester hours)
(2) Music methods, conducting, and music materiels

(not less than 8 semester hours)
(3) Applied music (not less than 6 semester hours)
(4) Electives in music, 6 semester hours

Professional and academic requirements for special
music certificate

C. Experience: Four years of successful teaching experience
