Born at Jamesport, Missouri, Noveriber 18, 1885. Educated at University of
Kansas and Central College. Member of Kansas Basketball and Baseball teans ,
1906~'07, Captain of '07 Basketball team. Basketball Coach at University of
Kansas, 1908-'09, winning Missouri Vallcy championshipse 1909-12, Coach of
Haskell Institute. 1912-'19, Athlotic Director and Soach of all sports,
Central Missouri State Teachors College, Warrensburg, 1919-'48, inclusive,
Director of athlotics and ead Baskotball Coach at University of Kansas,

Since 1920, Kansas hoop teams, ‘under Allén's coaching, have won 5 Missouri a
Valley basketball titles, ( 1923, '24, '25, '26 ond '27 ) and ticd ono.(1922)
Sinee the fornation of the Big Six Confcrentc, in 1929, Kansas, under #llen,
has won 6 Big Six titlos, ( 1951, 952, .'SS, 'S4, "36, and #36 ) and bas tied
for the crown on 4 occasions. ( 1937, '40, "41, and “'42,)

Allen's Kensas teans of 1922 and 1923 were chosen for Net ional Championship
honors by Helms «athletic Foundation, and alnost eaptured the title again in 1936
when the Jayhawkers went undcfeated in an 18 gane schedule. Howover, in the
Olympic Ganes tryout tourncucont Kensas twice went down to defeat at tho hands
oi: Utah State. Kansas won 21 streight cones in 1936 before losing to Utah State,

During the scasons of 1922, 23, and '24, Allen's Krnsas teams wont through

4 consecutive conference cancs without defeat. During the scasons 1922 to
1927, inclusive, Allon's squads won 97 ganos and lost but 11 == an amazing
