I do not know whethér I answered your good letter
of Mareh 24th or not when you told me about Hank, Jr.
spending the week-end at DePauw, I am very happy for you,
Henk, Jre, end your good wife. Congratulate Henk, Jre, for
me end tell him thet I am proud of him end I want him to
meke a creat record at DePauw. —

: I am leaving this week for Towa where I work with —
Clark Shaughnessy, Bernie Bierman and Henry Iba in the lows,
High School Athletic Association Coaching School end
Officials Clinice I will be beck the last week in August
end get ready for the event thet will take plece in the
Allen household on September 6th when Jane is getting
merriede She is marrying a young Princeton chap from Chi-
cago, and the family and all seem very pleased with the
young mane And, I understend, it is reciprocal on the
other side. Jane has been in Chicago for the past year
doing art work, ond believe it or not, she is not only
paying her own expenses but making some money. This is no
joke when ! tell you that. by the time e young ladey geta to
the point where she makes her own expenses and a little —
extra, then it is generally time to get marrieds But when
the young lady works end the parents pay most of the bills,
then they still stey single} Now that is said in a jesting
way, Hank, but can't a men make observations without getting
serious? ee
