2 i want you to know that I had a very pleasant visit with the
Budget Committee this afternoons I told them the history of the 30% cut —
in all salaries, including mine, when the Board retrenched. Then four
years ago when they made a change in the directorship I sat in the room
one Sunday afternoon here at the University with Dr. Snyder, Ralph Te
O"lieal, who were the representatives of the Board of Regents, and members
of our Athletic S5oard, including Chancellor Lindleye .

The Board of Regents members enphasized the fact that they were
going to retain me as head of the pepartment of Physical Education and that

On Monday, following the Sunday meeting, I received a letter which
