My dear Dr. Allen:

I wish to thank you for your kindness in
writing me regarding the meeting you had with
Mr. Latshaw and Mr. Walker on your trip.
Latshaw used to be in my department and could
tell you lots of things about me, but knowing
him as I do I am quite certain he did not re-
peat everything that he lnew.

I note you have a new chancellor in the
making at the University. He seems to be a
very fine type of man. I only wish he had
had a little more of an athletic record than
he appears to have. I imagine you fellows can
educate him along these lines.
