Dear Doctor Allen:

This will acknowledge receipt of your kind
invitation of October 22. I had a conversa-
tion with my Irish partner in which he stated
we had better wait and see what kind of weath-
er is going to be on tap the week end that we
journey down to your city. If the weather
seems propitious, I feel that we would be
very happy to avail ourselves of an opportun-
ity to play over your new golf course. I do
not presume our presence will entail any ex-
tended preparation on your part and wonder if
it would be all right to wait and ascertain
whether we will have weather such as we have
today or somewhat similar before letting you
know definitely. In other words, if it is
all right with you, we will drop you a line
