the unstinted contribution Ralph had made to the game of
Basketball in general and to the Joint Basketball Committee
in particular, and each speaker expressed their regrets
that he considered it advisable to take this action,
MOTIONs— Barber -— Kelly; That Ralph Morgan's resignation
be accepted with sincere regrets and that he be elected
an honorary member for life, Chairman St. John called
for a rising vote to emphasize the group's regrets and
his election as an honorary member for life.

MOTIONs— That Morgan, Metzdorf, and Tower constitute a

committee to arrange for the publication of the official

MOTION:- That a vote of thanks and gratuity of $15.00 be

extended the Management and Employees of the University
of Pennsylvania Club for their fine cooperation and ex-

A fraternal communication was received from Dr. James

Naismith, the inventor of the game of Basketball. This
letter was read before the Committee and elicited both
interest and appreciation, The suggestions contained
therein were accorded full consideration.

MOTION:- That the Secretary be instructed to communicate
with Dr, Naismith and express our appreciation for his
stimulating communication. Carried —- -— Unanimous.
