Gentlemen: -— Below is a copy of a letter being sent to the manufacturers noted on the list attached herewith. If there are any other manufacturers to whom you think this should be sent, will you please let me know? The attached list is the one used by Mr. Tower in sending out a similar letter after the 1929 Meeting. — “a Se ae Oe lee i — — Gentlemen :~ At the Annual Meeting of the Joint Basket- ball Committee held on April 12th, 1930, the follow- ing resolution was passed:- . That the minimum size and weight of the Basket-~ ball shall remain as is; that the maximum size be reduced. so there is a variance of one (1) inch; that the maximum weight be reduced so there ig a variance of two (2) ounces. That part of Rule 4, Section 1, would then read:~ It shall not be less than 30 nor more than 31 inches in circumference; it shall weigh not less than 20 nor more than 32 Ounces. The Members of the Joint Basketball Committee feel that the new specifications will result in a better game and in increased interest, and are confident of the full and hearty cooperation of the manufacturers.
