ReAGN SAS CITY Sonn. PAUL WHOLESALE MANUFACT ING == SRE TAKE 1509-11-13 BALTIMORE AVE. KANSAS CITY, MO. September 1, 1943 Dre Fe Ce Allen c/o University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear “Phog": : I am reasonably sure that I wrote you once before but there is nothing like trying again. I still have about eleven or twelve red, white and blue shirts lettered "KANSAS" which could be used by some of your basketball squads and I am wondering if you would like to consider taking them off our hands at a very ridiculous price. These shirts lettered and trimmed as they are will range between two and three dollars each and if you are at all interested I will make you a price of $1-00 each on them. They have been slight- ly used as salesmen's samples -- otherwise, are in first class shape- If you are going to be in Kansas City any time soon I would be glad to show them to you or will be pleased to send them out to you on approvale Let me hear from you if you are interested. Before closing I might add that one of our long lost mutual friends was in yesterday. Believe it or not it was Johnny West, one of your old-time Warrensburg stars who then weighed about 150 pounds. He still has his pug nose but his waist line has expanded to about my size, so you can visualize what he looks like- He is located in some town approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco but I forget the name of the towne He was on his way to Warrensburg, advising that his mother is quite ill but he does not know just how long he will be in these parts- Naturally he asked about you and we reminised on the names of quite a few of the old-timers and I enjoyed seeing Johnny a great deal. Here's hoping you have a good (seventeen year 01d) squad this season and can again come out on top. Yours as always, 4G jj Co LVB:LR Le Ve Brown, Genle Sales Mgre | LOWE & CAMPBELL MINNEAPOLIS <..
