ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION E.A.THOMAS MEMBER OF NATIONAL FEDERATION OF ATHLETIC ASSOCIATIONS COMMISSIONER ROOM 207- NATIONAL RESERVE BUILDING TOPGIRA - May 18, 1938 Dr. Forrest C. Allen, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Dr. Allen: I received your letter in regard to some figures showing the number of high school pupils participating in various sports and activities. We shall not have our figures for the 1937-38 school year finished until sometime this summer. The annual reports are due in June and we shall compile them as early as possible. Sometimes a few of the schools do not get their reports in until after the opening of school in the fall and we generally wait until September to make an official compilation. We shall be very glad to send all of the information we have just as soon as we are able to compile it. In regard to other activities, we can give you only approximate figures, because at present our reports do not require that any but those taking part in athletics are to be included. We can probably approximate the number participating in speech activi- ties and also in music. If you think these will be of any value we shall be glad to make the report as nearly accurate as possible. Very cordially yours, E. A. Thomas, Commissioner. EAT:hn E. R.
