They are both employed and it may be difficult for them to get released at this late date from their high school jobs. I would recome mend either one of the two. | = Katherine Schaake graduated from the University of Kansas three years agdOe She taught in a high school at Grand Island, heDrasby, one year and for the past two years has been the girls' physical education instructor at the ‘Hutshinson High School, one of the larger and better high schools of the state. Katherine has a very pleasing personality and she is very well trained profes- sionally and served one swmer on the staff here at the wmiversity. Her address is 1816 Alabama, Lawrence, Kansas, end her telephone number is 31423. I have talked to Miss Schaake and she tells me that she is interested in going ahead and — getting her master's so that if you should hire her it would only be a few summers - fmtil she would have her master's degree. | Mildred Je Wells will teach at Topeka High School next year. She has been for the, past two years at Emporia High School and made an outstand- ing record theres I am having Mr. H. EB. Chandler, who is in charge of the Teachers Employment Bureau here at the university, send you further information about | these two girls, I am sure that either would be excellent. It is just a ques- tion of whether or not they could get released this late in the summer from their high schools. I certainly hope that you can get one or the other of these two girls as I am sure you will be pleased with them, “ : Very sincerely yours, : Henry As Shenk Chairman of the | HAS si =e Department of Physical Education
