Husker Personalities - 4

Bob Therien, a former Bethany high school player, was an out-
standing performer in Greater Lincoln high schocl circles. He was a member
of the freshman squad last season. He stands 6-4 and weighs 177 pounds.

Grant Thomas showed promise of going places as a freshman last
season. Ho stands 6-1, weighs 165 and has 2 keen eye for the hoop. He
was all state at Kearney high.

Alton Werner is being groomed for a regular forward assignnent
this season. He won a minor letter last year. Werner's present home is
Kansas City, Mu., although he played his prep schocl basketball at Frankfort,
Kensas.

Duw Wilsun, aggressive, fast, cool and a good shot, looms as one
of the leading sophomore "finds" although he stands only 5-10 and weighs
but 156 pounds. He comes from Duw City, Iowa. Wilson was a uerber of the
U.S. Olympic baseball squad and a tearmate of Paul Amen, regular Husker
forward.

Irvin Yaffe may not be ready for a varsity position this season
but he gets an A for effort. Although handicapped by his small stature--
he stands 5-7 3/4--Yaffe is a good flcor men and shot. Played his high

school basketball at Omaha Central.
