Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas - Lawrence, Kansas Dear Mr. Allen: Thanks for your recent letter. I too was disappointed not to see you in Lawrence but appreciate the fact that you had to be eway. I also appreciate the good word you passed on to Gwin Henry, which helped make it possible for the@Wisconsin Track Team to take a grand trip. I was also sorry not to see my old neighbor Waldemar Geltch. I had planned to see him on Sunday but due to the death of Mrs. Jones' mother, I had to leave immediately afiter the Relays on Saturday, and didn't get back until the day of our dual meet. I've head a letter from Mr. Geltch since I returned and havealso written him. I'm not teaching this summer and plan to go up on the north shore of Lake Superior for a short time with my family. Guy Lowman's recovery is very slow through he is improving. He comes down to the office two or three times a week to take care of administrative work but does no teaching. Under separate cover I am sending you a bulletin of the Education Courses and some mimeographed material on the Physical Education program. We're not offerin thing new. My personal feeling is that most of our ine ti tuti@e tire courses are going to seed as far as this part of physical education is concerned, and they should get back to fundamentals and exercise. With kindest regards, I am
