Dear Dr. Allen: On two different occasions, I have talked with various people at Topeka High School concerning a speaking date there. On both occasions, I was told they would let me know, put I have heard nothing from it. Consequently, yesterday I attempted to get in con- tact directly with Mr. Van Slyck, but find he is out of the city attending a convention at Cleveland and will not return until the latter part of next week. I will see him personally as soon as he returns and let you know. I will try to see you after the Oklahoma game. Dear Dr. Allen: Would you be so kind as to have the Athletic Office set aside six tickets for me for the Oklahoma game, one of which I would like to be a "K" ticket for me. If they can leave the tickets at the box office, I can pick them up there. I am enclosing my check in the amount of $4.00. I do not think that is exactly the correct amount, as I do not understand the various tax additions: However, if the total amounts to more, I will take care of it at the time of calling for the tickets, and if my check is more than , eres ad just- ment can be made. RAMSKILL sone Lyndon, Kansas dune ic, 1959. Dear Mrs. Hulteen: I am sorry that I have to send the time into you at this time. I did plan to bring the time back to the office Saturday afternoon but it took longer for me to store part of my belongings at the house, pay billie, etc. than I expected. In the second drawr of my desk, I have some unused stencizts. Also find Miss Hoover's stencils and used stencils that I have been able to save. It seems as if the janitor must have destroyed the copies of the stencils that I run off the first day as I can't find them. : There are several more reams of mimeograph paper in the cabinet. My summer address will be just "Lyndon, Kansas" without street or box number. I am sorry to have caused this inconvenience. Dear Mrs. Hulteen: I certainly wish to thank you for thinking to tell me of Dr. Elbel's illness. I was completely unaware of his illness, and I had not written him all summer, but yesterday I wrote him a letter and ending by a customary "trusting you are feeling well", not knowing at the time that he was sick. I will indeed send him a noté at the hospital. to Dr. Elbel If my letter of yesterday/is still at the office, you might lay it aside as it had no special message; it was merely a letter that I thought IT owed Ed. oN Tell Jim hello. I was not even certain that he was at Lawrence this summer. I bet you folks will be glad when summer school is over, and it is certainly a hot summer. Thank you again for telling me of Ed's illness, and I hope that he will soon recover. Dear Dr. Allen: I received your letter of August 8th this morning and I was sorry to learn that I would be allowed a maximum of only $20.00 per month this coming year; however, I do fully appreciate the problem and realize that there are other boys who probably need work as badly as I. I am thankful for the work that I have had the past three years and hope that my work has been satisfactory, because I feel that the two years of actual office experience before my enrollment at K.U. should have helped qualify me for work of this nature I was indeed sorry to hear of Dr. Elbel's recent illness, and hope that he is much improved by this time. Sincerely yours,
