Dear Mrs. Hulteen:

I certainly wish to thank you for thinking
to tell me of Dr. Elbel's illness. I was completely
unaware of his illness, and I had not written him all
summer, but yesterday I wrote him a letter and ending
by a customary "trusting you are feeling well", not
knowing at the time that he was sick. I will indeed
send him a noté at the hospital.

If my letter of yesterday/is still at the
office, you might lay it aside as it had no special
message; it was merely a letter that I thought IT owed

Tell Jim hello. I was not even certain that
he was at Lawrence this summer.

I bet you folks will be glad when summer school
is over, and it is certainly a hot summer.

Thank you again for telling me of Ed's illness,
and I hope that he will soon recover.
